Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also known by her initials AOC, is an American politician and activist. She was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2019 representing New York's 14th Congressional District, taking office at the age of 29. She is the youngest woman ever to serve in the U.S. Congress. She attended Boston University where she double-majored in international relations and economics, graduating cum laude. She was previously an activist and worked as a waitress and bartender before running for Congress in 2018.
